The timely identification and release of restrictions to the craniosacral system of newborns, infants and children, often caused by birth trauma, is often very beneficial the health and well-being of the child. CranioSacral Therapy can also be very beneficial to individuals experiencing sensory disorders such as autism, dyslexia, loss of taste or smell or ringing in the ears. Many people also find CranioSacral Therapy to be an important part of their general wellness routines because of its stress-reducing and immune system-enhancing abilities.
Serene Lake and Serene View Massage Therapy
Both of our clinics have practitioners specifically trained in CranioSacral Therapy that can help encourage your body's own natural healing mechanisms to dissipate the effects of stress and other imbalances to your craniosacral system. The practitioner's light, hands-on approach simply assists the hydraulic forces inherent in your craniosacral system to improve your body's internal environment. You will benefit from better overall health and increased resistance to disease.
A CranioSacral Therapy Session
Sessions take place in a quiet, relaxing and private room. You will generally recline on a massage table throughout the session and should allow yourself to relax for maximum benefit. Soft quiet music generally aids relaxation and our practitioners have been trained to help you relax while you are receiving treatment. The practitioner will stand or sit throughout the session near your head, midsection and feet. The practitioner will position various parts of your body to allow your craniosacral system to release imbalances that are present. Practitioners will also apply light pressure to certain areas of your body to aid in the releases. Clients experience a variety of responses to therapy sessions, which may differ from session to session. Clients may talk a great deal, recalling hidden memories or emotions or they may deeply relax and even fall asleep. At times the practitioner will support your limbs or spine, allowing them to release tension. During a release you may recall a past shock, trauma or injury. These releases and recollections of past injuries aid your body in reversing dysfunctions and returning to a more balanced state. After sessions, clients will experience a variety of results. You may sleep deeply for hours due to the relaxed state created or you may have a burst of increased energy due to the restored balance. A reduction of pain and increased mobility may occur immediately or may develop gradually. Healing quiet often continues for some time after a session. You may also experience some light discomfort as your body adjusts from its previous tension-holding patterns.
